Around Colorado & Wyoming
- Wyoming: Cheyenne Frontier Days crowned its 2026 champions Sunday. Tayla Moeykens won barrel racing in 17.41 seconds, while Ignacio, Colorado's Luke "Colorado Kid" Mackey won bull riding with a 90-point ride on Tiger King. See the official championship results.
- Colorado: The Colorado State Fairgrounds is temporarily closed to the public while evacuated animals are staying on the grounds and crews prepare for the fair. Online ticketing remains open, and General Entry & Fine Arts drop-off plans remain unchanged. Read the official fairgrounds update.

- Laramie County Fair Open to the World Horse Show Extravaganza - Saturday, August 1 - Cheyenne, WY English, Western, and gymkhana classes at Archer Arenas. Registration and vet check open at 8 a.m.; the show starts at 9.
- Run for Royalty Open 4D Barrel Race - Saturday, August 1 - Chaffee County Fairgrounds, CO An open 4D race during the Chaffee County Fair, with the first run scheduled for noon at the fairgrounds.
- Steve Price Memorial Ranch Rodeo - Sunday, August 2 - Cheyenne, WY Ten ranch teams, 10 ranch-bronc riders, and free spectator admission. Contestant check-in opens at 1 p.m.; Grand Entry starts at 3.
