Thursday got away from us, but the weekend didn't. The Colorado State Fair opens with four PRCA nights in Pueblo, Wyoming has three Friday options between Cheyenne, Dubois, and Rock Springs, and Sunday brings a Don King Days polo doubleheader in Big Horn.

Starts Today

• Colorado State Fair PRCA Rodeo — Aug 28–31 in Big R Arena in Pueblo, CO. The fair confirms four PRCA performances, with concerts after the rodeo Friday through Sunday.
• Hell on Wheels Rodeo and Chuck Wagon Dinner — Fri, Aug 28 at the Laramie County Fairgrounds in Cheyenne, WY. It is the series finals: gates at 5 p.m., dinner at 5:30, and Grand Entry at 7.
• Dubois Friday Night Rodeo — Fri, Aug 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Clarence Allison Memorial Arena. Admission is cash-only at the gate: $20 adults, $10 ages 6–12, and free for ages 5 and under.
• Sweetwater Downs Horse Racing — Fri at 4 p.m. and Sat–Sun at 1 p.m. at the Sweetwater Events Complex grandstands in Rock Springs, WY. Admission is $6 and includes the racing program and parking; kids under 12 are free.

Already Underway

• Charmayne James Barrel Racing Clinic — The Aug 27–30 clinic continues through Sunday at Double Check Arena in Eaton, CO. The official schedule says spectators are free and schools usually wrap Sunday around 11 a.m.

Saturday & Sunday

• WBS After Party Barrel Race — Aug 29–30 in the Sweetwater Events Complex Indoor Arena. The venue confirms the weekend and arena but does not publish the daily start times or entry terms, so check with the event before hauling.
• Wellington RSNC Sorting — Wolfe Productions — Aug 29–30 at Wolfe Arena, 6339 WCR 98 in Wellington, CO. Cinch RSNC still lists Wolfe Productions as the producer for the weekend.
• Big Horn polo doubleheader — Sun, Aug 30 at Big Horn Polo Club in Big Horn, WY: the Big Horn Equestrian Center Cup at 1 p.m. and the Big Horn Polo Club Cup at 3 p.m. Both are Don King Days Championship playoff games; pack a tailgate.

Labor Day Week

• Colorado State Fair Mountain States Ranch Rodeo — Wed, Sep 2 at 6 p.m. in Pueblo, CO. The five-man hybrid scramble with open ranch bronc riding is free with fair admission.
• True Western Roundup — Four Corners Motorcycle Rally Rodeo — Fri, Sep 4 at La Plata County Fairgrounds in Durango, CO. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the rodeo starts at 6:30; tickets are available online or at the gate.
• Don King Days — Sun–Mon, Sep 6–7 at Big Horn Equestrian Center in Big Horn, WY. Gates open at 9 a.m. and the field action starts at 11, with polo, Wyoming Steer Ropers finals, matched bronc riding, and live music.
• Ouray County Rodeo — Mon, Sep 7 in Ridgway, CO. The August 27 CPRA schedule confirms slack at 8 a.m. and the performance at noon; contestant entries open Aug 28 and close Aug 31, with overnight parking listed and no stalls.
